You can’t have failed to notice that baking is hot news at the moment but have you ever thought about the men and women across Scotland who bake for a living?
We think our bakers are amongst the best in the world and to celebrate their craftsmanship, Scottish Bakers, the association that supports craft bakers across the country, is organising a search for the best Scottish Baker of the Year 2013 and Paul Hollywood once again is backing the Awards!

What is it? |
Scottish Baker of the Year is a competition where all customers across Scotland can vote for their favourite local baker and to rate his/her products in the following categories: morning roll, scone, individual cake, savoury, bread and biscuit scoring each on appearance/ freshness, taste and value for money. |
Why? |
Your local baker prepares your breads and cakes every night and it is time to say a big thanks! We also want all customers to focus on the freshness of craft baked goods as well as focus on local products and community. |
When? |
Between 19th February and 13th March 2013 customers accross Scotland will have 3 weeks to vote for their favourite products. |
How? |
You can vote online or via paper based entry form handed out in your bakery from 19th February 2013. |
What can I win? |
There is something for everyone! Vote for your local baker and his/her products for your chance to win one of 6 iPads! |

The winner of the inaugural Scottish Baker of the Year Awards 2012 is Harry Gow Bakery in Inverness. The first ever Scottish Baker of the Year Awards took place in March 2012 and we were absolutely delighted with the participation levels, 12,500 customers voted for 164 bakeries across Scotland. At Scottish Bakers Annual Conference in May 2012 Paul Hollywood Artisan Baker and a judge on the Great British Bake Off who supports the Awards, presented 33 winning bakeries with 45 Regional Product Awards, 15 National Product Awards and the first ever Scottish Baker of the Year Award. A big thank you goes out to all customers who voted for their favourite bakery products!

In the Scottish Baker of the Year Awards 2012, 5 lucky customers who voted for their local bakers won an iPad.
