CBI Scotland Business-University Conference

Event Dates:
Tuesday, October 24, 2017

CBI Scotland is delighted to invite you to a unique event which will bring together business, government and academia to explore how we can work more closely together to build the skilled workforce and innovation culture Scotland needs to succeed in the future.

The event will feature presentations from a range of senior figures from business, government and academia who will discuss how we can remove obstacles to greater collaboration on R&D and the benefits that could unlock for individual businesses, Higher Education institutions and the wider economy. The conference will also explore how we can address the shared challenge of ensuring young people are equipped with the skills businesses need to grow, both now and in the future.

The conference will be co-chaired by Professor Pete Downes, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Dundee and Professor Andrea Nolan, Principal and Vice-Chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University and Convener of Universities Scotland. We are delighted that the event will also feature keynote addresses by the Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Jobs and Fair Work, Keith Brown and the Minister for Further Education, Higher Education and Science, Shirley-Anne Somerville.

Attendance is free of charge – to reserve your space, please email colette.cunningham@cbi.org.uk and feel free to share this invitation with any colleagues who might also be interested in attending. A more detailed agenda will be provided in due course.
