Alan Clarke to Leave Scottish Bakers
STATEMENT FROM SCOTTISH BAKERS
From Craig McPhie, President of Scottish Bakers
"It is with regret that today I must announce that our Chief Executive of 7 years, Alan Clarke, will be leaving Scottish Bakers at the end of June to take up the role of Chief Executive of Quality Meat Scotland (QMS).
Alan leaves Scottish Bakers in a much healthier position than when he joined. We have provided training and qualifications to more than 3,000 employees across the UK from the food and drink sector and grown annual turnover exponentially, achieving profitability each year. During this time, we have received healthy audits not just from our accountants but from our Awarding Bodies, regulators and funders.
We have built on our range of services which are now respected by our members, funders and key stakeholders. We have built on the World Championship Scotch Pie Awards and established the Scottish Baker of the Year Awards making a positive impact to each of the winning businesses. We have also been recognised nationally by winning conference of the year for 2 years in a row at the UK Association awards.
So, I would like to thank Alan for everything he and his team have achieved and we sincerely wish him well for the future while we look forward to continuing to build on these positives.
Our board are continuing to develop our strategy and will be announcing our future actions shortly. In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact me at any time.
