Food Standards Scotland has launched a consultation on The Food Standards and Food Hygiene (Miscellaneous Amendments) (Scotland) Regulations 2019. The consultation launched on the 19th November and is running until Monday 17th December 2018.

All ‘pies’ were on Dunfermline today as Scottish butchers and bakers lined up to deliver their premier pies into the hands of the judges of the 20th World Championship Scotch Pie Awards for a long day of product perusal – a day that will see them take a step closer to selecting the World Champion Scotch Pie.

Scottish added-value food ingredient manufacturer Macphie has announced the departure of its managing director Andy Underwood.

Mr Underwood, who is leaving the company at the end of the year, originally joined as commercial director in 2011.

Holgran is a renowned supplier of malted grains, seeds and blend inclusions. Meanwhile, Fleming Howden sources, manufactures and distributes a wide range of quality bakery ingredients and yeast products.

Brownings the Bakers of Kilmarnock have been crowned Scottish Baker of the Year 2018 at a glittering ceremony hosted in Glasgow by Scottish Bakers, the association that supports and promotes the interests of Scottish bakers across the country.

Dunfermline based Scottish Bakers took delivery today of some 850 of the nations' favourite morning rolls, scones, individual cakes, savouries, biscuits, breads and new category, celebration cakes, for judging.



Local business, Yester Farm Dairies based at Gifford, East Lothian has seen three of its staff successfully complete their  SVQ Level 2 (SCQF Level 5) in Dairy Skills as part of a training programme supported by Skills Development Scotland in conjunction with Scottish Bakers.
