It is with great sadness that were informed this week of the death of David T Bell, owner of Bells Food Group and master baker. David passed away in the early hours of Monday morning. Our sincere condolences go to his wife and family. 


It is with great sadness that SAMB Past President (1973-74) Ian Terris passed away peacefully on Monday 21st September 2015, The funeral service will take place on Monday 28th September 2015 at 11.30am at Limekilns Parish Church, followed by a private burial and thereafter at Garvock House Hotel.


Food Standards Scotland and Food Standards Agency are seeking your views on the European Commission’s proposal to overhaul the Guidance document on the implementation of procedures based on the HACCP principles. The Commission are reviewing the current guidance and are seeking comments on the content and structure of the document.


Scottish Bakers is proud to be supporting Stewart Irwin and his colleagues as they take part in the Arran Challenge at the end of this week. They are attempting to raise £10,000 towards the cost of building a new atrium at the Princes and Princess of Wales Hospice in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow. The Atrium will be the heart of the new build.


The Scottish Bakers Team were pleased to read in The Scotsman earlier this week that the Tattie Scone will remain on Tesco supermarket shelves! A customer in Bo'Ness recently spotted that the packaging had been renamed 'Potato Cakes, much to her displeasure.
