Stockan’s Oatcakes expands range with Waitrose in England and Wales

 

Stockan’s Oatcakes, is delighted to announce the expansion of its current range with UK wide listings of the award winning Orkney Beremeal Oatcakes and Thin Orkney Oatcakes.

Moira Cairns, Business Development Manager from Stockan’s, said: “Having started supplying Waitrose in only two Scottish branches over 10 years ago, we are very pleased with the continuing success of our oatcakes across the whole of the UK.  Since the launch last year of the Thick Orkney Oatcakes into Waitrose stores in England and Wales, we have enjoyed strong sales and it is the result of this performance that the range is now expanding to include our best-selling Thin Orkney Oatcakes into England and Wales and our award winning Orkney Beremeal Oatcakes UK wide.  We feel that this range extension will offer shoppers something new and will provide further healthy choice options”.

Since Stockan’s were introduced to the range in 2006 at a local level and with the one national listing last year, the performance and relationship we've had with them has gone from strength to strength. Their products offer us a real point of difference to what we already have in our Savoury Biscuits fixture and so we are delighted to have worked with Stockan’s to bring their amazing oatcakes to more of our customers around the country to enjoy". 

All of Stockan’s Oatcakes are packed full of the benefits of wholegrain oats, contain no artificial additives, preservatives or flavourings and are suitable for vegetarians. The company continues to innovate whilst staying true to its Orkney heritage. The latest award winning product, Orkney Beremeal Oatcakes, uses flour from the ancient grain ‘bere', a barley which is only found in the far North of Scotland and the Hebrides. The bere is grown for and milled by The Barony Mill, Orkney, which dates back to 1873 and which still uses traditional milling methods. In addition to a unique and wholesome taste, beremeal has many nutritional benefits, including being high in fibre and rich in vitamins and minerals.
