Scottish Baker of the Year Awards 2017/18

The voting for this year’s Scottish Baker of the Year Awards 2017 is now OPEN and will run through to Wednesday 8th March 2017. To vote online CLICK HERE!

We are delighted to announce that Michelle McManus will be the public face of this year’s search for the best products in the land and Mich Turner MBE will compere both the regional and national awards at this year’s conference on the 5th & 6th May 2017 at the Crowne Plaza, Glasgow.

We will be sending you our voting packs for each of your shops, these will include posters and paper based entry forms highlighting the 6 categories of Scone, Bread, Savoury, Individual Cake, Morning Roll and Biscuit, that your customers can vote for These voting packs will be with you, week commencing 13th February 2017.  PDF copies of the posters and voting forms can be found on this page. Please feel free to use copy of the poster on your website/social media.

Our aim this year is to encourage more customers to vote online via, which will go live on the 23rd February 2017.  Therefore, we will be active on social media during the voting period with lively and engaging Facebook and Twitter feeds supporting our PR campaign featuring Michelle McManus to encourage your customers to vote.  Please like and share on social media and we will do the same as we have a dedicated resource managing this for us during the voting period.  There are three stages of the competition, we have detailed these on the attached key dates sheet.

This year sees the introduction of a new business category – the Bakery Café of the Year Award. The winner of this new category will then compete alongside the winners of the Craft Baker, Retail Craft Baker and Wholesale Baker of the Year, for the title of Scottish Baker of the Year 2017/18

You will also be able to vote for the Manufacturer of the Year Category. This category enables you, as a bakery, to vote for your favourite bakery manufacturer (not a wholesaler). The voting period starts on the 23rd February and runs through to the 7th April 2017. Voting forms will be supplied to all manufacturers that wish to take part so we would greatly encourage you to support them.
