Current Scottish Bakers President

  • President Ronnie Miles, MD of Bells Food Group
    Ronnie Miles, Managing Director, Bells Food Group

    Current Scottish Bakers President, Ronnie Miles, MD of Bells Food Group, Shotts, took office in May 2018 at Scottish Bakers Annual Conference.

    Ronnie has been with Bells — a third-generation family wholesale bakery business — for over 30 years. He is a passionate advocate of training, education & people development in our industry and has grown to love all aspects of the trade.

  • John Gall, Managing Director, Brownings the Bakers

    Appointed to the Board in 2008, John was Scottish Bakers President from 2014-2016.
  • David Gow, Director, Culloden Foods

    David joined the Board in 2017. David is a 5th generation Director of family-owned bakery, Harry Gow, based in Inverness. Harry Gow's bakery was crowned FIRST EVER Scottish Baker of the Year in 2012 and received their accolade from Paul Hollywood.
  • Don Henderson, MD of Goodfellows of Dundee
    Don Henderson, Managing Director, Goodfellows of Dundee

    Don is Managing Director of one of Scotland's oldest established bakers, Goodfellow's of Dundee, founded by David Goodfellow & Margaret Steven in the centre of Broughty Ferry in 1897. Don has joined the board in 2008.
  • Linda Hill, Murray's the Baker
    Vice President, Scottish Bakers

    Linda became Vice President of Scottish Bakers in May 2018. She is the latest generation of family craft bakery Murray's, in Perth, and has been on the Board of Scottish Bakers since 2013.
  • Alan Marr, Managing Director, Aulds Bakeries Ltd

    Alan is Managing Director of Greenock-based bakers, Aulds. Founded in 1900 by Thomas Auld, the company was taken over in the 1950s by Thomas’ nephew Ian Marr who went on to spend 65 years in the baking industry before his passing in 2013. Alan joined the board in 2008.
  • Suzanne Matheson, Head of HR, S M Bayne
    Suzanne Matheson, Head of HR, S M Bayne

    Suzanne is Head of HR at S M Bayne, of Fife, one of Scotland's largest bakery retail bakery businesses. She brings a wealth of experience in all HR and workforce matters and is a member of the Joint Industrial Committee. She joined the Board in February 2019.
  • Ian McGhee, Director, D McGhee & Sons

    Ian is Director of one of Scotland's largest family-owned bakers, D McGhee & Sons. Founded in Maryhill, Glasgow, in 1936 by Dugald McGhee, the company now operates from state-of-the-art headquarters on the M8 Foodpark in Glasgow. Ian joined the board in 2008.
  • Angela McKinnon, Tower Bakery
    Angela McKinnon, Tower Bakery

    Angela (with husband Sandy McKinnon) has been running Tower Bakery in Perth since 1981. Tower Bakery is essentially a Craft Bakery and many products are still made by traditional non-mechanised methods. Angela joined the board in 2014.
  • Craig McPhie, Bakery & Product Specialist, Stephens Bakery

    Craig was President from 2016-2018 and has been involved with the board since 2006. He ran McPhie's Craft Bakery in Glasgow's East End where his bakery and shop served the local community from the early 1970s up until 2019. Craig is now Bakery & Product Specialist at Stephens Bakery based in Dunfermline.
  • Michelle Phillips, Mimi's Bakehouse

    Michelle launched Mimi's into the Leith food scene in 2010 and since then has opened a further four outlets, gaining multiple awards along the way. Michelle joined the board in 2015.
  • Gary Reid, Reid's of Caithness

    Gary is the latest generation to run this family business in Caithness, in the far north of mainland Scotland. Reid's prides itself on a commitment to time-honoured, handcrafted baking methods and were honoured as our Scottish Baker of the Year 2017-18. Gary joined the board in 2016. 
  • Andre Sarafilovic, Managing Director, Stephens Bakery

    Andre is Managing Director of Dunfermline-based bakers, Stephens. With a strong commitment to using the finest local ingredients, Stephens award winning products are still handmade using traditional methods and craftsman’s skills. Andre has served the Scottish Bakers board since 1999.
  • Brian Sarafilovic, Managing Director, Pars Foods Ltd

    Brian is Managing Director of multi award-winning Pars Foods, in Glasgow, who specialise in the manufacture and distribution of pastry and traditional pies. Brian has served the board since 2001.
  • Keith Stuart, MD of R T Stuart Ltd
    Keith Stuart, Managing Director, R T Stuart Ltd

    Keith is Managing Director of Fife-based Bakers and Butchers, R T Stuart Ltd. He is the latest generation of his family to become a director of Scottish Bakers, joining in November 2016. Keith's great-great-great Grandfather was present at the inaugural meeting of Scottish Bakers, held in October 1892.
  • John Whalen, Managing Director, Uin Foods Ltd.

    John is Managing Director of Uin Foods Ltd, of Cambuslang, near Glasgow where they manufacture 25 million Italian style pizzas each year as well as a range of speciality Italian style breads. He was appointed to the Board in February 2019.
